2023 TSSAA BlueCross Bowl: Top Tennessee High School Football Prospects to Watch in State Championships

Starting on November 30, 2023, the TSSAA BlueCross Bowl is ready for championship games that will be among the best high school football matches this season. This year’s event will feature some of the best talent in the state and most of them have received invitations from other college teams.

As the teams prepare to battle for state titles, here are some of the top prospects to watch in the 2023 TSSAA BlueCross Bowl state championships:

Division II-AA

Boyd-Buchanan: Marcellus Barnes Senior (CB). A four star recruit and No. 9 prospect in Tennessee. Virginia Tech has his heart and he is among others the best player in the country. The best among 32 cornerback in the 2024 class.

McCallie: Carson Gentle, Sr. (DL) – Gentle is a three-star prospect ranked no 238 in his position group. 29 prospect in Tennessee. He remains loyal to Tennessee, and he is at No. Ranked no. 77 defensive tackle in Class of 2024.

Division II-A

Middle Tennessee Christian: Isaiah Groves JR (RB) – Groves is a 3 star rated player and the No. 21 prospect in Tennessee. These include offers from Kentucky, NC state University, UAB, and Charlotte.” For 2,967 rushing yards and 30 touchdowns he accumulated this season.

Division II-AAA

Baylor: Bryson Powers-Johnson, Sr. (WR) – Powers-Johnson is a 3-star recruit and the No. 23 prospect in Tennessee. He currently has offers from Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Louisville, and Memphis.

McCallie: Cb, IV. Numbered one (1), Marcellus Barnes, SR. 9 prospect in Tennessee. The player is a dedicated member of Virginia Tech, the No. a top 32 cornerback in the class of 2024.

Class 2A

East Robertson: Elijah Groves Sr. (LB), top 4* prospect and No. 7 prospect in Tennessee. In July he committed to Kentucky after receiving offers from Memphis, Middle Tennessee State, UAB, and Virginia Tech.

Class 3A

East Nashville: Senior Jaylen Wade, RB – Wade is a three star signee and NG, No. 18 prospect in Tennessee. These offers are in Arkansas, Kentucky, and Missouri.

Class 4A

Upperman: Marquis McCord, Sr. (WR), a four-star recruit ranked number. 11 prospect in Tennessee. He will remain loyal to Tennessee as he is rated as number. Ranked as the 26th wide receiver in the 2024 class.
Class 5A

Knoxville West: JeremiahCraddock, Sr. (RB) - He is a four star recruit and #1 running back in his class. 4 prospect in Tennessee. He is totally devoted to his team, and Tennessee ranks 1st in that list. Ranked as the nation’s 4th running back in the 2024 class.

Page: Zahryouzs Collins, Jr. (CB) – Collins is a three star prospect who is ranked as the no. 16 prospect in Tennessee. For instance, he has job offers from the Universities of Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia Tech.
